Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology located in Morgantown, WV. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field to maximize short and long-term sales performance, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships with a patient-centered approach, operating within all applicable laws and AbbVie policies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close calls effectively.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics, optimize coverage and frequency to key customers, and maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge with in-field and brand teams to optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease-state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, business, or related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking; able to operate in a matrix environment.
  • Proven sales success, strong presentation skills, and ability to adapt to different customer styles.
  • Influences others and collaborates across districts and matrix teams; demonstrates positive leadership and coaching.
  • Leadership experience and ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities and organizations in the territory; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; may involve driving personal or company vehicle.

Education

  • HCIR credentialing requirements to access facilities in the territory; background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses as required by state or local regulations.
  • Travel within the territory as needed; field-based role with residence within a reasonable distance to Morgantown, WV and surrounding areas.
