Role Summary

Field-based Specialty Representative, Gastroenterology, covering the Denver South geography (including surrounding areas: Denver South, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Grand Junction). You will execute brand strategy and tactics, drive sales performance, manage the territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships to address provider needs and maximize patient access while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively address customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute call plans that achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market dynamics, accounts, disease states, product and sales knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: Relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; minimum five years of experience, including three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field.
  • Required: Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills; ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; provide innovative ideas to maximize opportunities and anticipate changes.
  • Required: Influences others and is viewed as a credible, collaborative resource; leads by example and coaches peers in changing and challenging environments.
  • Required: Documented leadership experience and ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies across district/region.
  • Preferred: Proven sales performance track record within the relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency.
  • Required: Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Required: Driving a personal auto or company vehicle or the use of powered equipment; valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • High school diploma/GED required.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel within the assigned geography as needed.
