Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Eye Care - Manchester, NH. This role is field-based and hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, and other related goals.
  • Create pre-call plan objectives and execute post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Aim to serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan to maximize access and sales opportunities with key customers.
  • Gather and share market intelligence on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and brand strategy with in-field team and management.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and develop disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five (5) years in lieu of a bachelor’s, with three (3) or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to operate in a matrix environment; adapt to customer style and behavior
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and strategic thinking
  • Influences others effectively; builds collaborative partnerships with district and matrix teams
  • Leads by example with positive behaviors and coaching; prior leadership/support roles are a plus
  • Preferred: proven sales success in relevant therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care, or marketing
  • English proficiency (verbal and written)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet safe driving requirements
  • Must satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials
