Role Summary
This field-based Specialty Representative, Dermatology role covers Los Angeles, Hawthorne, Redondo Beach, Downey, Orange, and surrounding areas. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short and long-term sales performance while placing the patient at the center of efforts and operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed them.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, disease states, and products; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team to align and optimize strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience; 5+ years of industry experience if no bachelor’s degree, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; operates effectively in a matrix environment; strategic and critical thinking abilities.
- Required: Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style/behavior and influence stakeholders; capable of leading and coaching within changing environments.
- Required: Documented leadership or increased responsibility at district/region levels; ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: Proven sales success within the therapeutic area; pharma industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
- Required: Satisfaction of health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain access to facilities; must be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
- Required: Compliance with HCIR credentialing, including potential background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses as applicable.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or related field preferred; or equivalent industry experience.
