Role Summary
This field-based Specialist role focuses on dermatology, covering Northern Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Northern Nevada. The incumbent will execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while adhering to AbbVie’s policies and relevant laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
- Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
- Aim to serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win–win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Stay informed on customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease state, product, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or relevant experience; in lieu, at least five years of experience with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven track record of selling success with strong presentation skills; ability to adapt to customer style and respond to changes with innovative ideas.
- Influences others and is regarded as a credible, collaborative resource; leads by example and fosters peer coaching in challenging environments.
- Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels; able to leverage findings to inform sales strategies.
- Preferred: prior sales success in therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency.
- Must meet HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and remain in good standing or be eligible to obtain credentials.
- Strong scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; business acumen; ability to operate in a matrix environment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening; ability to drive personal or company vehicle/related equipment.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience)

Additional Requirements
- Health care industry representative credentialing (HCIR) requirements to access facilities and maintain credentials; may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
