Role Summary

Field-based Specialty Representative, Dermatology covering Kansas City, KS metro and surrounding areas. This role executes brand strategy and field tactics to drive sales, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, and build strong customer relationships while solving customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales. You will place the patient at the center of efforts and operate within AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws. The position requires living within a reasonable distance from the primary city and travel within the territory.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans with SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and gain calls to action to close on each sales call.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, and product and clinical knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field and brand teams to align and optimize brand strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify, develop and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Required: High school diploma or GED.
  • Required: At least five years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree; three or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field.
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; strategic thinking; and the ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills; ability to identify customer styles/behavior and adapt selling approaches; contributes ideas to the organization and responds to changes.
  • Influences others and is seen as a credible, respected resource; builds collaborative partnerships with district and matrix teams; leads by example and coaches peers.
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region levels and the ability to leverage findings to develop sales strategies.
  • Preferred: Proven sales success in the therapeutic area; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
  • Essential HCIR credentialing: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials.
  • HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting and state/city licenses; ensure compliance; AbbVie provides resources to help answer questions.
