Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Dermatology - Fresno, CA. This field-based role covers Fresno and surrounding areas; talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
  • Serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease areas, products, and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease-state experts and advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience required
  • Equivalent experience: at least five years in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required
  • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strategic and critical thinking; effective in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record in selling and strong presentation skills; adaptable to customer styles and able to anticipate and respond to changes
  • Influences others and is viewed as a credible resource; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; leads by example
  • Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district/region/organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies
  • Preferred: track record in sales within therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed care or marketing; English proficiency in speaking and writing
  • Must satisfy all health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities in the assigned territory and maintain credentials
  • HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proofs, fingerprinting, and licenses; candidate is responsible for satisfying these requirements; AbbVie provides resources to assist
