Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field; effectively manage assigned territory and targeted accounts.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial/marketing objectives (meet or exceed targets).
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close.
- Proactively serve customer needs/expectations/challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute call plans to meet call metrics and optimize coverage/frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product/clinical/sales expertise) to align strategy and anticipate changes.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify/develop/maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred; or equivalent industry experience required.
- If no bachelor’s: at least 5 years pharmaceutical/health/science experience (3+ years preferred) and a high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven success in selling with strong presentation skills; adapts selling approach based on customer style/behavior; offers innovative ideas.
- Ability to influence and serve as a credible peer resource; collaborative partnership with district and matrix team; leads by example.
- Documented success in leadership/support roles with increased responsibility; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: sales performance success in respective therapeutic areas; experience with physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- HCIR credentialing required to gain/maintain facility access (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses); must be in good standing/eligible.
- In-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge; strong business acumen and business tool proficiency; strategic/critical thinking; matrix environment experience.
- Ability to drive (personal or company vehicle/equipment); valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
