Role Summary

Specialty Representative, Dermatology - Central Northeast, MI. Field-based role requiring residence within a reasonable distance of the primary city; talent hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed targets.
  • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to continuously improve performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
  • Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
  • Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
  • Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease states, products, clinical and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize strategy.
  • Differentiate AbbVieโ€šร„รดs value proposition with health providers and identify/develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven track record in selling with strong presentation skills; deep scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by stakeholders; strong business acumen and use of business tools; ability to think strategically and critically.
  • Operates effectively in a matrix environment; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities; anticipates and responds to changes.
  • Influences others and is seen as a credible, respected resource; builds partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team; demonstrates leadership and peer coaching in changing environments.
  • Understands and leverages findings to develop sales strategies; sustains elevated expectations; takes ownership of problems and considers broader implications.
  • Assists team in identifying resources and learning opportunities.
  • Preferred: proven sales performance in relevant therapeutic areas; experience in pharmaceutical sales, physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; English proficiency in writing and speaking.
  • Valid driverโ€šร„รดs license; able to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
  • Ability to drive a personal or company vehicle or operate relevant equipment.
