Role Summary
Field-based Specialty Representative, Dermatology covering Ann Arbor, MI and surrounding areas. Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales performance while operating within AbbVie’s code of conduct, policies, and all applicable laws and regulations. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed stated goals.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on sales calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to achieve set metrics and optimize coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and disease/product knowledge; share market intelligence with in-field team and brand team for alignment and optimization of brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify/maintain disease state experts and speakers to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma/GED; plus at least five years of relevant industry experience, including three or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry; or equivalent experience; proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field; or equivalent and relevant experience; strong business acumen and proficiency with business tools; ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; ability to identify customer styles/behavior and adapt selling approaches.
- Preferred: Proven sales success in the relevant therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing; strong scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge recognized by stakeholders.
- Preferred: English language proficiency (written and spoken).
- Additional: Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations within the assigned territory; in good standing or eligible to obtain these credentials. HCIR requirements may include background checks, drug screens, immunization proof, fingerprinting, and state/city licenses. You are responsible for satisfying these requirements; AbbVie provides support as needed.
