Role Summary
Specialty Representative, Dermatology – Albuquerque, NM. Field-based role covering all of New Mexico with Albuquerque as the primary city; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. You will execute brand strategy and tactics, manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and solve customer needs to maximize short- and long-term sales while adhering to AbbVie’s code of conduct and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and perform post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance; handle objections and close on calls.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan that meets call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease state, product, and sales expertise; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align and optimize brand strategy.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease-state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications
- Required: At least five years of industry experience, with three or more years in pharmaceutical/health/science; high school diploma/GED required; relevant and equivalent experience acceptable in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Required: Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; strong business acumen; proficient use of business tools; strategic and critical thinking; operates effectively in a matrix environment; offers innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
- Required: Proven track record of selling and solid presentation skills; ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approach; provides impactful ideas and anticipates/responds to changes.
- Required: Influences others; credible role model; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix team; leads by example and coaches peers through changing environments.
- Required: Documented leadership and increased responsibility at district, region, and/or organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: Proven sales performance within respective therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience such as physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing.
- Preferred: English language proficiency (verbal and written).
- HCIR credentialing: Essential to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements to gain/maintain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain credentials.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements.
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.
