About the Role
- The Dermatology sales force drives demand following potential regulatory approval through education, educating healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizing business opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) develops and applies business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver clinical value proposition and advance customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer education).
- Manage accounts in Dermatology practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
- Achieve sales goals and territory metrics; execute franchise/company brand strategy within the customer segment.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use.
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using accurate clinical information and approved materials.
- Execute local marketing strategies to build customer engagement and educate key decision makers.
- Present complex clinical and business information to Dermatologists and other decision-making groups.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states/treatments.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, etc.).
- Follow compliance policies and seek clarification when uncertain.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS).
- 3+ years successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device selling (or relevant clinical/industry experience) OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Experience calling on Dermatologists/Dermatology (highly preferred).
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong communication, influencing, presentation, and writing skills.
- Collaboration skills.
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs.
- Experience calling on Dermatologists.
- Experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues.
Travel/Licenses
- Valid driverβs license.
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts; up to 25β50% overnight travel.
Training Requirements
- Employment contingent on passing mandatory product training with written/oral exams.
- External hires during training are non-exempt (overtime eligible during training only) and not eligible for sales incentives/bonuses during training.
- Training includes live instruction, independent study, role play; up to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
- After passing exams, transition to exempt status; no overtime eligibility; bi-weekly pay and eligibility for sales incentives/contests.
