About the Role:
The Dermatology sales force drives demand through education following potential regulatory approval. Educates healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizes business opportunities in dermatology-focused physician offices, clinics, and hospital accounts. Specialty Business Manager (SBM) develops business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver clinical value proposition and guide customers across a brand educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer).
- Perform account management in dermatology practices, clinics/outlets, and independent offices.
- Attain sales goals and territory metrics; execute brand strategy/tactics within the customer segment.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use.
- Deliver targeted sales messages using approved materials and clinical information; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies to enhance business results and customer engagement.
- Present complex clinical/business information to dermatologists, health care professionals, and related groups.
- Develop/implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states/treatments.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office).
- Follow compliance policies and seek clarification when needed.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required:
- BA/BS.
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device (or related clinical/industry experience); OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Dermatology/Dermatologists experience highly preferred.
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability.
- Understanding of managed care landscape.
- Strong verbal/influencing/presentation and written communication.
- Collaboration/team success.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography.
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs.
- Experience calling on Dermatologists.
- Experience managing complex reimbursement issues.
Travel Requirements:
- Drive/fly to accounts; occasional business meetings; overnight travel 25โ50%.
Training Requirements:
- Must pass mandatory product training (written and oral exams); during training may be classified non-exempt with overtime eligibility, then transition to exempt status after successful completion.
