About the Role:
The Dermatology sales force drives demand for the assigned product through education following potential regulatory approval. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) educates healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizes opportunities in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts specializing in Dermatology. Responsibilities include developing business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education
- Perform clinical selling: deliver clinical value proposition and advance customers across a brand educational continuum
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities (e.g., peer-to-peer) for HCPs
- Conduct account management in Dermatology practices, clinics, independent physician offices
- Attain territory sales goals/metrics and execute brand strategy and tactics for assigned customer segment
- Build relationships with decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use
- Develop and deliver targeted sales messages using approved materials; discuss therapeutic strategies
- Execute local marketing strategies; build customer engagement and educate local decision makers
- Present complex clinical and business information to Dermatologists and relevant professional/patient groups
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states/treatments
- Strategically manage allocated resources (financial/budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, etc.)
- Follow compliance policies, guidelines, and training; seek clarification when uncertain
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Required:
- BA/BS
- 3+ years successful pharma/biotech/medical device selling (or relevant clinical/industry experience) OR 2+ years at Takeda
- Dermatologist/Dermatology experience highly preferred
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability to market changes
- Understanding of managed care landscape
- Strong communication, influencing, presentation, and writing skills
- Strong collaboration/team success
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling to HCPs
- Experience calling on Dermatologists
- Experience managing complex reimbursement issues
Training Requirements:
- Employment contingent on passing mandatory product training (written/oral exams)
- During training (external hires only): non-exempt, eligible for overtime; no sales incentives/production bonuses
- Training includes instruction/study/role play; up to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week
- After passing exams: transitioned to exempt status; paid bi-weekly; eligible for sales incentives/contests
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to drive/fly; occasional meetings
- Overnight travel up to 25β50%
Location/Pay (if applicable):
- Colorado β Virtual
- US Hourly Wage Range: $63.51β$87.31
- May be eligible for short-term incentives; may be eligible for medical/dental/vision, 401(k), disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, and other benefits
- Up to 80 hours sick time/year; up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires
