About the Role:
The Dermatology sales force drives demand following potential regulatory approval for the assigned product through education. The Specialty Business Manager (SBM) educates healthcare providers (HCPs) and optimizes business opportunities in targeted Dermatology physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts. The SBM develops and applies business processes that benefit patients and achieve sales goals.
How you will contribute:
- Support account onboarding through education.
- Conduct clinical selling: deliver the clinical value proposition and advance customers across an educational continuum.
- Support initial clinical and patient access education for medical staff.
- Coordinate clinical education opportunities/programs for HCPs (e.g., peer-to-peer education).
- Perform account management in Dermatology practices/clinics/outlets and independent physician offices.
- Meet sales goals and territory key metrics; execute brand and franchise strategy within assigned customer segments.
- Build relationships with HCP decision makers and stakeholders to support safe/effective product use.
- Deliver targeted sales messages using approved materials; discuss therapeutic strategies.
- Execute local marketing strategies to build customer engagement and educate local decision makers.
- Present complex clinical/business information to Dermatologists, healthcare professionals, and relevant groups.
- Develop and implement medical education and sponsor programs; stay current on disease states, treatments, and business environment.
- Strategically manage allocated resources (budgets, managed markets, medical affairs, home office, etc.).
- Adhere to compliance policies, guidelines, and training; seek clarification when uncertain.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelorโs degree (BA/BS)
- 3+ years successful selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device (or relevant clinical/industry experience); OR 2+ years successful selling experience at Takeda
- Dermatologist/Dermatology calling experience highly preferred
- Business/strategic planning skills; adaptability to market changes
- Understanding of managed care landscape
- Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication
- Strong collaboration/team success
- Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography
Preferred:
- 5+ years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals
- Experience calling on Dermatologists
- Experience managing/communicating complex reimbursement issues
Training Requirements:
- Employment contingent on passing mandatory product training (written/oral exams). During training, employee is non-exempt and eligible for overtime only during training; not eligible for sales incentives/production bonuses. Training includes live instruction, independent study, role play; up to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
- After passing exams, transition to exempt status; paid bi-weekly; eligible for sales incentives/contests.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts; occasional business meetings
- Some overnight travel (up to 25โ50%)
Compensation and Benefits (if applicable):
- Vermont - Virtual
- U.S. hourly wage range: $63.51โ$87.31
- May be eligible for short-term incentives; medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well-being benefits, sick time (up to 80 hours/year), and paid vacation (up to 120 hours for new hires)
