Role Summary
Specialty Account Specialist β Respiratory responsible for delivering scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement with specialist customers to support a GSK biologic product. Develop and execute account-specific strategies, provide product education, and drive sales within the Westchester County, NY, New York City, and Southern Connecticut territory. Travel domestically up to 30% and driving is an essential function. Relocation assistance not provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and identify the appropriate resources (e.g., Payer Relations Managers, HUB, approved materials) to refer customers to for reimbursement and distribution choices, always adhering to GSK guidelines and values.
- Maintain knowledge and data, which are constantly changing, with respect to severe asthma therapeutic expertise.
- Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values.
- Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Develop and implement strategies specific to each customer within an account (e.g., Allergists, Pulmonologists, nurses, PAs, office managers).
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
- Effectively manage allocated resources (i.e., financial).
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customers' requests, inquiries and needs.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs degree
- Required: Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight travel up to 30%
- Required: Valid driverβs license
- Required: Must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle β driving is an essential function of this role
- Required: The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience
- Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty Products that utilize the Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy modes of distribution.
- Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers.
- Biologic/Rare Disease/Respiratory Sales experience.
- Experience selling in IDN Systems.
