Role Summary

Specialty Account Specialist, Immunology - Maryland/D.C. is responsible for providing Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product. The role involves developing and implementing account-specific strategies, maintaining up-to-date therapeutic knowledge, and driving compliant customer engagement and sales within assigned territories.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
  • Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and refer to appropriate resources for reimbursement and distribution choices while adhering to GSK guidelines and values.
  • Maintain knowledge and data related to severe asthma therapeutic expertise.
  • Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
  • Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
  • Develop and implement strategies specific to each account (e.g., Rheumatologists, Nephrologists, nurses, mid-levels, business/office managers).
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
  • Effectively manage allocated resources.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customers' requests, inquiries, and needs.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight travel up to 30%.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license; must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle – driving is an essential function of this role.
  • Required: The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience.
  • Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
  • Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 30% domestically; overnight travel as necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle is required.
