Role Summary

Specialty Account Specialist (Immunology) in Houston, TX. Lead key activities, drive career growth, and perform impactful work within a specialized immunology portfolio. Build and implement account-specific strategies, engage with healthcare professionals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a GSK biologic product.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Scientific Knowledge, Business Acumen, and Customer Engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
  • Understand the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and refer to appropriate resources for reimbursement and distribution choices, within GSK guidelines and values.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of severe asthma therapeutic expertise.
  • Provide product educational programs/in-services to customers.
  • Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
  • Develop and implement strategies specific to each customer within an account (e.g., Rheumatologists, Nephrologists, nurses, mid-levels, business/office managers).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations, Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
  • Effectively manage allocated resources.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customer requests and inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which in some territories may include overnight travel up to 40%
  • Required: Valid driver’s license; must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle – driving is an essential function of this role
  • Required: The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience
    • Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
    • Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 40% domestically may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive/operate a vehicle.
