Role Summary
The Specialist, Scientific Leader Contracting, Global Expert Management and Strategy (GEMS) Consulting and Medical Education role resides in the Value & Implementation (V&I) organization, which includes Global Medical and Scientific Affairs as well as Outcomes Research. It is responsible for the process and training oversight of the outsourced Global Support Team in support of GEMS Consulting and Medical Education programs, coordinates ad-hoc projects to support data integrity and related tasks, and runs routine and ad-hoc reports while supporting a variety of short- and long-term department initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates and integrates with U.S. and Global Business, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment of the Scientific Leader (SL) contracting process with all applicable internal and external policies and procedures.
- Ensures timely and compliant contract execution of programs in collaboration with various stakeholder teams.
- Acts as contracting process and system subject-matter expert and escalation point for outsourced global support-team staff regarding company policies and procedures as they pertain to contracting SLs.
- Understands company, local country market, and SL requirements that may impact the contracting policies for SL programs globally and updates procedures to ensure compliance.
- Maintains work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance with all government and company guidelines regarding contracting SLs globally.
- Facilitates accurate reporting to ensure data integrity, support quality control, and evaluate service-level metrics.
- Participates in business-process analysis to support requests for system enhancements and upgrades.
- Understands and implements contract processes that support the Physician Payment Sunshine Act (PPSA), EFPIA, and any country-specific transparency requirements.
- Supports GEMS Consulting and Medical Education in gathering required documentation to support internal and external audits and legal requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or other related area.
- Minimum: Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-up.
- Minimum: Strong interpersonal and communications skills and a demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems.
- Minimum: Cultural consideration/sensitivity when working with employees, external stakeholders, and vendors from various countries.
- Minimum: Ability to prioritize and independently manage multiple assignments.
- Minimum: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Preferred: Ability to identify and enforce corrective actions to ensure compliance with company policies and country regulations.
- Preferred: Knowledge of compliance in a regulated environment and areas of risk associated with fee-for-service activities.
- Preferred: Strong analytical skills for developing data-driven reports.
- Preferred: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, charts, graphs).
