Role Summary
Specialist I, Production Maintenance is responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency of manufacturing equipment. This role performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on production line equipment, diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and troubleshoots using standard electronic and mechanical tools and drawings. It maintains maintenance logs, executes preventive maintenance work orders, and works in GMP clean rooms with appropriate gowning and safety protocols. This is a first shift, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, MondayβFriday, and may involve heavy lifting, handling of chemicals, and general computer use.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment including, but not limited to, custom filling machines, commercial printers, chemical processing equipment
- Perform mechanical work on equipment with strong attention to detail under pressure while maintaining focus
- Respond in a timely manner to service/emergency calls
- Work on-call schedule of off-shift hours or weekends to support production requirements
- Inspect manufacturing equipment and operations routinely to ensure systems are working properly
- Make repairs to equipment, apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts, and run tests to ensure equipment functionality
- Ability to multitask and manage time accordingly
- Enter work performed into work order system
- Follow cGMP practices when performing and recording work
- Work in a cleanroom environment routinely while adhering to required gowning and safety protocols
- Assist Facilities Department with general maintenance functions
- Observe all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines
- Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED with minimum of 3 years related experience or the equivalent combination of experience and training
- Vocational or technical school training a plus
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting aptitude
- Able to work self-sufficiently as well as be a team player
- Ability to work on-call as necessary
- Knowledge of cGMP procedures and/or experience working in a cGMP environment a plus
