Specialist, Automation Engineering - 2nd Shift (Onsite)

Role: Automation Engineering Specialist supporting sterile clinical manufacturing at Merck's Rahway FLEx Center, focusing on process automation, OT/IT systems, and compliance. Responsibilities: maintain validated automation systems, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, lead automation changes and investigations, support automation lifecycle management, and collaborate on capital projects. Also responsible for installation, validation, cybersecurity, and data analytics for automation solutions, including vendor management and cross-functional teamwork. Requirements: Bachelor’s in Engineering, Science, or IT; at least 2 years in process automation; strong knowledge of cGMP, data integrity, validation, PLC/SCADA, and industrial networking; excellent project management and communication skills. Preferred: experience with Allen-Bradley/Siemens PLCs, SCADA platforms (iFix, WinCC OA, Ignition), scripting (Python), biologics/vaccine manufacturing experience, and GMP automation validation.
