Role Summary

This position consults with employees, people leaders, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and AbbVie policies when assisting employees requesting workplace accommodations to enable them to perform their jobs. The role includes accommodation case management, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining accurate case documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Accommodation case management, handling matters ranging in complexity. Management includes analysis, timely and comprehensive recommendations on a case-by-case basis, utilizing the interactive process and engaging with applicable stakeholders.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable HR and accommodation related regulatory requirements, as well as AbbVie’s policies and procedures
  • Provides professional expert consultative and problem-solving services to managers, employees and other stakeholders
  • Effectively and accurately creates and manages case-related data and documentation, in compliance with AbbVie’s policies and procedures
  • Administrative and project related responsibilities in support of role and departmental objectives.

Qualifications

  • 2 years HR experience required, preferably with knowledge and experience of accommodation related matters, to include regulatory requirements (e.g., ADAAA), workforce policies, FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and ergonomics
  • Effectively resolves accommodation and other HR matters, with varying degrees of complexity, with guidance from management as appropriate
  • Ability to work efficiently, driving effective resolutions in a matrixed work environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Effective verbal and written business communication skills
  • Effective time management skills with demonstrated ability to reprioritize as needed
  • Project management experience
  • Proficient in MS Office – Windows environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Employee Relations or related field, or equivalent work experience
