About The Role
The Facilities Space Planner supports workplace planning, space utilization, and lab and office layout initiatives to ensure efficient and functional use of company facilities. Responsible for renovation space planning, seat allocation, and drawing management. Works with consultants and internal stakeholders on functional area designs and coordinates facility infrastructure support needs.
Your Contributions (include, But Are Not Limited To)
- Supports workplace planning projects with office/lab layouts, occupancy tracking, and workspace changes
- Maintains space planning documentation (floor plans, seating charts, occupancy data)
- Coordinates office moves, adds, and changes
- Gathers, analyzes, and reports space utilization data to support recommendations and decisions; follows workplace planning standards and processes
- Collaborates with Facilities, Site Services, IT, and other departments for day-to-day needs
- Maintains accurate CAD drawings and timely updates to workplace databases and drawings
- Maintains workplace services documentation (SharePoint content, procedures, service standards)
- Develops preliminary lab space planning concepts; maintains lab equipment lists and associated space drawings
- Performs feasibility/site master planning analyses; maintains and reports planning data for longer-term space/asset decisions and renovations/new construction requirements
- Develops facility renovation options; creates reports and presentations
- Partners with stakeholders to define requirements, evaluate alternatives, and recommend workspace solutions aligned to business needs
- Supports Procurement with contracts and purchase orders for facility planning
- Supports implementation of new Space Planning tools
Requirements
- High School Diploma + 6+ years OR BS/BA + 2 years (or equivalent education/experience totaling 6+ years) in workplace and facilities planning
- Strong design and graphic presentation skills; collaborates effectively with stakeholders and consultants
- Proficiency developing with AutoCAD and/or CAFM/IWMS or related workplace planning tools
- Revit, CAD drafting, and Bluebeam experience advantageous
- Laboratory and EHS standards experience preferred; AEC industry experience advantageous
- Basic knowledge of space planning concepts, workplace standards, and office layout
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project)
- Strong organization, analytical skills, attention to detail; teamwork; communication/problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
