Role Summary

Sourcing Manager – MedTech Agile Procurement will lead sourcing execution across Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech R&D and Commercial Organization, supporting approximately $1.2B in spend. This role is a member of the MedTech Procurement Agile Team, working in small, self-organizing cross-functional teams that operate in short cycles to deliver value iteratively and engage frequently with the business. The role will identify, develop, and direct the implementation of procurement goals and objectives, plan and direct activities to meet targets for financial performance, quality, service, and compliance, and partner with Business Engagement Leads, Category Leads, and the MedTech Business to foster a culture of customer-centricity, empowerment, speed, responsiveness, and efficiency, delivering incremental value realization and improved customer service. Location: New Brunswick, NJ (preferred); other options in Raritan, NJ; Tampa, FL; Titusville, NJ. Travel: up to 10% domestic.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing execution across R&D and Commercial Categories that will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for J&J.
  • Lead Agile Project Teams and collaborate with BEL/FEL and Category Leads to assure alignment of JNJ’s objectives are met, including quality, reliability, innovation and cost.
  • Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments.
  • Build and maintain relationships throughout JNJ that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives and information critical to the development of optimal approaches and solutions.
  • Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management and development and improvement of end to end value and bring innovation to the business.
  • Identify, develop and direct the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics.
  • Raise issues that may impact the Global Procurement organization.

Qualifications

  • A minimum 5 years of Procurement Experience
  • Broad-based understanding of business operations and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management)
  • Leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills
  • Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary
  • Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
  • Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with J&J senior Management)
  • Project management skills
  • Data Analytics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent University degree is required

Skills

  • Strong level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
  • Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
  • Ability to influence and understand differing needs of partners (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain)
  • MedTech, R&D, Commercial and/or Agile Sourcing experience

Additional Requirements

  • Requires up to 10% domestic travel.
