The Opportunity:
Praxis Precision Medicines seeks Software Engineering talent to support its regulated eDiary and clinical data platforms. Engineers will work across web/mobile applications, secure clinical data platforms, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, API design, auditability, identity/access control, and production observability.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable, production-grade code across frontend, backend, and data layers to meet clinical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Deploy and operate services in a cloud environment (AWS preferred); contribute to architecture/design reviews focused on reliability, scalability, and security.
- Debug and resolve production issues across distributed and asynchronous workflows; diagnose performance bottlenecks; own incident response (RCA and durable fixes).
- Collaborate with QA, Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Product, and IT to translate requirements into validated releases.
- Design APIs and data models that preserve audit trails, version history, and traceability; improve observability via structured logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Uphold data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Key Success Factors:
- Bachelorβs in Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years professional software development (end-to-end production systems).
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools; ability to critically evaluate AI outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability.
- Strong fundamentals: data structures/algorithms, API/interface design, relational data modeling/transactional integrity, separation of concerns.
- Ability to debug complex, multi-layer issues (client/API/database/infrastructure) in distributed/asynchronous systems using logs/metrics/instrumentation.
- Cloud deployment/operations experience (major provider); networking, access control, configuration, monitoring; secure system design (authentication/authorization).
- Production monitoring/alerting and CI/CD practices; remote-first, high-accountability work.
