Role Summary

The Site Lead, GTS Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily IT operations of BeOne Medicineโ€šร„รดs San Carlos office, ensuring seamless technology services that support core business and scientific functions. This role provides a critical interface between end users and the broader IT organization, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality support and service management within both office and laboratory environments. This role will be based in our San Carlos office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Site Operations: Serve as the primary IT contact for the San Carlos site.
  • Lead IT initiatives and projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex end-user and infrastructure issues.
  • Ensure local compliance with BeOneโ€šร„รดs IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Align IT services with business needs through close collaboration with local leadership and functional teams.
  • End User & Laboratory Support: Manage escalated service desk incidents and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Provide technical support for a mixed office/laboratory environment, including scientific instruments and lab-specific applications.
  • Drive continuous improvement of ITSM processes (incident, request, change, and problem management).
  • Partner with Facilities, Lab Operations, and Security to deliver technology support across functional spaces.
  • Lead technology rollouts, infrastructure upgrades, and office expansions as needed.
  • Technology & System Oversight: Demonstrate advanced expertise in Office 365, Azure, and Intune, including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Maintain and support core IT infrastructure, networks, and endpoint systems.
  • Utilize tools like ServiceNow for incident tracking, reporting, and service performance analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for operational optimization and cost savings through contract/vendor reviews.
  • Support and manage the integration of IT systems in laboratory environments.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise daily activities of full-time and contingent local San Carlos IT staff, ensuring consistent service delivery and adherence to company standards.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to team members.
  • Lead team meetings, share best practices, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-ready PowerPoint presentations and project updates for internal stakeholders.
  • Cultivate a culture of service excellence, accountability, and innovation.
  • Ensure local staff meet their goals and objectives.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Daily management of FTE and CW GTS IT Operations San Carlos Operations staff members.
  • Oversee the daily workload of the local San Carlos Operations staff, ensuring adherence to processes and standards.
  • Leading and mentoring the San Carlos Operations staff, including training and performance management.
  • Conducting regular team meetings, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Ensuring the San Carlos GTS Operations staff meet their goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • 5โ€šร„รฌ7 years of progressive IT operations experience, with at least 2 years in a site leadership role.
  • Broad understanding of systems administration, IT infrastructure, and user support methodologies.
  • Prior experience supporting laboratory and office environments in a biopharmaceutical or life sciences setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across functions and levels.

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required for team collaboration, training, or project needs.
