Role Summary

Lead the on-site Health, Safety and Environment program at the Morrisville, United States drug product manufacturing site to protect people, operations, and patients. Set the standard for an injury-free workplace by strengthening controls and coaching leaders, and by shaping a culture where safety and quality are inseparable. Partner with site leadership, operations, and technical teams to ensure robust compliance across the full lifecycle—from raw materials through finished product and responsible waste management—and to confidently guide construction and contractor activities in high-risk environments. Responsibilities

  • Lead site Health, Safety and Environment strategy to achieve an injury-free, compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Partner with site leadership to embed a strong safety culture using effective risk management controls.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety, environmental, and emergency management regulations.
  • Act as Health, Safety and Environment subject matter expert across site operations.
  • Oversee safety support for construction projects and contractor activities.
  • Lead inspections, audits, and permit management activities.
  • Develop and coach the site Health, Safety and Environment team.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum 8 years' experience leading health, safety and environment programs in regulated manufacturing.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of occupational safety and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Required: Proven people leadership and culture-building capability.
  • Required: Experience working with regulatory authorities and inspections.
  • Required: Ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Required: Previous experience leading a Health, Safety and Environment department at a manufacturing site.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting large construction projects and contractor safety oversight.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, engineering, industrial hygiene, or related field.
