Role Summary

Build the digital backbone of Novartis’ new Morrisville manufacturing sites. As the Site Head for Information Technology and Operational Technology, you will lead the onsite automation and digital agenda from construction through steady-state operations—aligning general contractors, global functions, and site leadership to deliver secure, reliable systems that enable world class manufacturing. You’ll orchestrate critical path activities spanning automation control systems, equipment integration, information technology infrastructure (hosting, network, and data center), Manufacturing Execution System, Environmental Monitoring System, Building Management System, security, and serialization. Post startup, you will own the site Automation and Digitalization roadmap, drive adoption of standardized global solutions, ensure audit readiness and twenty-four seven system reliability, and upskill our user community—so teams can focus on what matters most: delivering medicines that improve patients’ lives. Responsibilities

  • Lead onsite Information Technology and Operational Technology activities for new manufacturing site construction and readiness.
  • Manage automation control systems, equipment integration, Manufacturing Execution System, Environmental and Building Management Systems, security, serialization.
  • Coordinate general contractors, global Novartis teams, and site leadership to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Build and guide the site Information Technology and Operational Technology team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Drive the site digitalization and automation roadmap, aligned with global strategies and standardized solutions.
  • Oversee budgets, project pipeline, and operational transitions for technology initiatives and services.
  • Ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and reliable, twenty‑four‑seven availability for critical site systems.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Required: 7+ years of relevant experience in Automation or Information Technology within a GMP pharmaceutical environment.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of automation systems and information technology infrastructure.
  • Required: Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Required: Demonstrated experience managing budgets and project pipelines.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Automation, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Experience implementing Manufacturing Execution System, Environmental Monitoring System, Building Management System, and serialization.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Engineering, or a related field.
