The Position
Responsible for maintaining and issuing properly stored and labeled materials and receiving inventory and non-inventory materials.
Essential Functions
- Receive all inventory and non-inventory materials per procedures; complete documentation and labeling; ensure materials are stored appropriately and documentation is forwarded.
- Transact inventory moves to maintain inventory accuracy in SAP.
- Execute cycle counts as needed.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and report results.
- Review and modify procedures/work instructions.
- Recommend inventory reorder points and improvements to Purchasing.
- Participate in improvement activities.
- Communicate material availability to planning and manufacturing.
- Ship product per procedures; lead/coordinate/execute product/sample shipments.
- Maintain training for shipping/receiving/handling of chemicals and hazardous materials, including storage compatibility.
- Maintain IATA certification; coach IATA training and HazMat shipments.
- Coordinate with carriers for scheduling deliveries/shipments.
- May train junior employees.
- Maintain departmental equipment work instructions.
- Ensure safety is integrated into daily work.
- Field inert gas alarms and swap inert gas dewars.
- Cross-train in Materials Coordinator responsibilities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/equivalent & 8+ years related experience OR Associate degree/equivalent & 6+ years related experience OR Bachelorβs degree with 4 years related experience.
- Minimum 4 years related experience.
- Good communication, attention to detail, and record keeping.
- Operate forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack.
- Maintain good driving record.
Preferred/Ideal
- Previous SAP experience.
- Forklift certification.
