Role Summary

Shipping and Receiving Supervisor responsible for supervising shipping and receiving operators, ensuring timely shipping, receiving, staging and storage of medical products with a focus on safety and quality in accordance with GMP guidelines. Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, coaching and development, payroll management, scheduling, performance reviews, budget adherence, inventory control, participating in quality audits, improving departmental efficiency, minor machine maintenance, and supporting corporate trucking operations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of operators, clerical staff, quality auditors and mechanics throughout the shift.
  • Train employees on SOPs pertinent to their work area.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of shipping and receiving documents.
  • Oversee safe work practices of all personnel in the warehouse.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Perform periodic inspections to ensure the quality of all receipts and shipments.
  • Hire and train new staff; motivate and develop employees through coaching and corrective actions up to termination as needed.
  • Manage payroll, employee scheduling, and performance reviews.
  • Operate within departmental budget and participate in inventory analysis/control.
  • Participate in quality audits and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Support corporate trucking operations.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required: Basic reading and math skills.
  • Required: Minimum three to five years as a shipping & receiving/warehouse supervisor.
  • Required: Willing to work shifts, including weekends and overtime as required.
  • Required: Oversee safe work practices of all personnel in the warehouse.
  • Required: Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Required: Perform periodic inspections to ensure quality of all receipts and shipments.

  • Required: Train employees on SOPs pertinent to their work area.
  • Required: Ensure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of shipping & receiving documents.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical devices/pharmaceuticals.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree.
