Role Summary
Senior Vice President of U.S. Patient and Market Access (PAMA) will lead the U.S. Bankable Market Access unit to optimize patient access, reimbursement, availability, and affordability for TakedaβΓΓ΄s US portfolio. The role serves on the USBU Executive Leadership Team and the broader global Takeda Leadership Team, directing a diverse team and shaping market access strategy in the US. Location: Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Providing overall direction to the U.S. Business Unit (USBU) on portfolio and product-level pricing, access, reimbursement and affordability strategies and programs, including in-line products, line extensions and new product planning.
- Serving as a high-performance contributor on the USBU Executive Leadership Team to help achieve organizational financial and non-financial KPIs.
- Working closely with U.S. Public Affairs and other internal stakeholders to help the USBU understand, shape and prepare for market-driven and legislative/regulatory changes.
- Serving as the final negotiator on multi-billion dollar agreements across payers, PBMs, specialty pharmacy, retail pharmacy, GPO and distribution customers.
- Ensuring industry-leading patient support programs, embracing latest technology and human-centered design principles.
- Leading a diverse team of professionals and creating an equitable and inclusive environment where team members can each leverage their expertise to better support patients and each other.
- Serving as a TLT thought-partner, close collaborator, and USBU point of contact with the US Oncology Market Access and Patient Services teams, Global Manufacturing and Global Market Access organizations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 20 years of experience within a major global pharmaceutical or biotechnology company with a proven track record of building and leading high performance, diverse teams, as defined by business results; experience should include a broad portfolio including specialty and rare products.
- 15 years of experience managing teams specifically within Market Access; ideally some experience in global, regional or OUS markets.
- Deep understanding of the US healthcare system, including payer, PBM, GPO, specialty pharmacy, distributor and provider dynamics, and experience navigating complex reimbursement and access challenges.
- Established leadership-level relationships with payers, PBMs, GPOs, specialty pharmacies and distributors.

- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
