The SVP Business Operations will play a pivotal role in the advancement of uniQureโ€™s gene therapy pipeline, and will be a strategic and results-driven leader. You will be responsible for leading multiple key functions critical to the success of uniQure. These key functions include: Business Intelligence and Analytics, Forecasting, Customer Training, and Patient Advocacy. The Global Head of Business Operations will provide strategic direction for the function, collaborating closely with senior leadership, Business Development, Commercial and Market Access teams, and external stakeholders.

The person in this role will report to the Chief Customer & Strategy Officer. We anticipate this role will require up to 30% travel, including to our Lexington office.

Key Result Areas (Major Duties, Accountabilities and Responsibilities)

Business Insights and Analytics:

Leverage primary research and data analytics tools to generate actionable insights on market landscape, product performance, brand strategy (positioning, branding, and messaging), and competitive dynamics. Translate findings into strategic initiatives.

Data Operations:

Lead the development of a robust data infrastructure to support future commercialization activities.

Field Operations:

Build and lead a team responsible for creative branding, conference logistics, CRM implementation, recognition programs, and other operational support.

Forecasting and Budgeting:

Own the sales forecasting process across short-, medium-, and long-term horizons to guide planning and resourcing.

Learning and Development:

Collaborate with Commercial, Medical and Market Access leadership to create and execute training and development programs that improve the effectiveness and capabilities of the customer-facing teams. Provide mentorship and coaching as needed.

Patient Advocacy:

Establish and maintain relationships with Patient Advocacy groups and external stakeholders in the gene therapy field. Represent the company at relevant conferences and industry meetings.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional Business Operations team. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture within the department and across internal departments.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Partner closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Finance, Business Development, and other departments to support business objectives, launch planning, and market access efforts. Foster a culture of alignment and accountability.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required (advanced degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial functions, including commercial operations, analytics, and strategic planning within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proven track record in the rare disease space is a prerequisite, gene or cell therapy experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
  • Proven track record of improving processes and driving business performance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to build and develop a strong team with a โ€˜one uniQureโ€™ mindset.
  • Strategic mindset with a bias for action and results.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and work cross-functionally.
