Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operating room (OR) activities to ensure efficient case flow and a safe, sterile environment; provide hands-on clinical support to circulator and/or scrub as needed.
- Oversee OR operations as directed, including ordering/maintaining supplies and equipment, managing sanitization, managing OR setup, preparing/cleaning surgical tools/equipment, and participating in surgical procedures on the PD anesthesia team.
- Assist surgeons with operative procedure setup and post-operative animal care (e.g., examining animals, checking vitals, monitoring animals under PD anesthesia).
- Assist with post-op procedures including imaging, biopsies, bronchoscopy, tissue procurement, and management of cardiopulmonary functions.
- Assist PD anesthesia providers with induction, positioning, airway management, IV placement, and monitoring setup as required.
- Ensure PD supplies, instruments, and medications are available and prepared in advance.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Travel to other DPF locations as needed to provide training and support OR staff, ensuring protocol and quality standardization across sites.
- Collaborate with the OR Coordinator to ensure the OR is fully stocked and prepared for daily procedures.

Minimum Requirements:
- Associate Degree in veterinary science, nursing, or related discipline.
- 6+ years of related perioperative care experience with demonstrated leadership of OR operations with an Associate Degree (or 4+ years with a Bachelorโ€™s Degree).
- 1+ years of experience in an operating room setting.
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (NAVTA).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for human operating rooms.
- Working knowledge of OR processes and management.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to mentor and support new team members and foster teamwork, safety, and accountability.
- Proven record of academic and clinical productivity.
- Must not have any other interaction with pigs outside of the company.
- Physical demands: lift 75 lbs to waist level; push/pull 200 lbs on wheels.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelorโ€™s Degree in veterinary science, nursing, or related discipline.
