Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist, Oncology – Baltimore, MD. Represents oncology products and services to a defined customer base, drives sales within the Maryland geography (excluding Washington DC suburbs), and partners with cross-functional teams to promote product adoption and patient access. Leads territory planning, customer engagement, and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Represent Oncology products and services to a defined customer base, generating and growing sales, and achieve or exceed sales targets within the geographic area
- Prepare a business plan for the territory and monitor sales progress and action plans
- Identify patient pathways within oncology offices in the assigned territory and facilitate patient access to treatment
- Promote products to targeted oncologists and office staff, onboard staff on safe and appropriate drug administration, and inform them of Gilead patient services
- Establish and develop relationships with key customers, accounts, and key opinion leaders
- Navigate hospital and large account sales with complex reimbursement considerations
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, deliver presentations, and influence stakeholders at professional events
- Partner with Medical Scientists, Marketing, and Market Access on cross-functional projects to drive sales and patient adoption
- Demonstrate leadership through compliant behavior and conduct
- Identify and resolve issues, communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management
- Complete administrative tasks (e.g., updating customer database, expenses) promptly
- Ensure all personnel comply with Gilead commercial compliance policy and applicable laws and guidelines
Qualifications
- Required: High School and 9 years of experience; OR Associates Degree and 7 years; OR Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years; OR Master’s Degree and 3 years
- Required: Ability to travel regularly within the assigned area and meet onsite visitation requirements for healthcare practitioners (vaccinations, background screenings, etc.) as applicable
- Required: Ability to perform all essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations as needed
- Required: Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: At least 7 years of pharmaceutical/healthcare sales experience and a BS/BA or equivalent; previous product launch experience; oncology therapy experience; breast cancer domain familiarity
- Preferred: Strong selling skills in competitive markets; aptitude for understanding scientific product information; strong interpersonal, negotiation, and cross-functional account management skills; autonomy and self-motivation; industry trend awareness; strong analytical abilities; team collaboration

Additional Requirements
