Role Summary
Senior Therapeutic Specialist in Eugene, OR, representing Gilead's products to a defined customer base and driving sales within a specified geographic area. The role emphasizes comprehensive account management, in-person engagement with healthcare practices, and strategic partnerships to generate growth and meet sales targets. You will build relationships with healthcare providers, deliver disease awareness and clinical updates, and translate complex clinical concepts into clear messages for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Account Management & Sales Strategy: Build strong relationships with healthcare providers, develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan, monitor sales progress, and adjust strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Product & Disease State Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of Gilead products and disease states; promote appropriate use to healthcare professionals in compliance with Corporate, PhRMA, and OIG guidelines.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Partner with local cross-functional colleagues to ensure a seamless customer experience and collaborate with external healthcare organizations and partner companies to extend reach.
- Leadership & Compliance: Model ethical behavior, ensure adherence to regulatory and company policies, and report adverse events as required.
- Customer Engagement & Reporting: Use advanced relationship skills to drive sales, build long-term provider partnerships, perform administrative tasks in designated systems, manage expenses, and oversee territory budget; commit to continuous learning and self-improvement.
Qualifications
- Required: Basic Qualifications: High School with 11+ years of experience or Associates Degree with 9+ years, or Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years, or Master's Degree with 5+ years; willingness and ability to travel within the assigned area; valid driver's license; ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations if needed.
- Preferred: BA or BS degree; minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare sales experience; proven selling skills in competitive markets; track record of meeting/exceeding sales objectives; experience with account-focused cross-functional teams; experience selling injectable physician-administered products; familiarity with managed care landscape.
