Position Summary
- Drive demand for BMS medicines within a defined portfolio for appropriate patients by engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) through differentiated scientific dialogue consistent with label.
- Maintain credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs as a primary point of contact.
- Liaise with other BMS functions to deliver a higher Customer Experience (Cx), prioritizing safe and appropriate use of BMS products while meeting business results and performance objectives.
- Field-based role; anticipated 100% time in the field with external customers.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Promotion
- Promote approved indications within a defined territory/region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
- Create demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintain/grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Use available tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Use approved scientific resources/publications to present accurate information to HCPs.
- Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) consistent with label.
- Organize external speaker programs (selecting speakers from approved lists; scheduling/logistics).
- Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Engage real-time medical support via Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with other field teams to ensure best Customer Experience (Cx) for HCPs.
- Gather/share insights internally with appropriate stakeholders.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse.
- Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately and convincingly.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain credibility with key customers and influence-network stakeholders via a customer-centric mindset.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Demonstrated account management capability, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Strong selling/promotional skills.
