Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a critical field-based role aimed at maximizing engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and driving adoption of Bristol Myers Squibb medicines for appropriate patients. The TAS builds scientific credibility, delivers a differentiated customer experience, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives while prioritizing safe and appropriate product use.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and expands scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts fair and balanced scientific dialogue with HCPs, presenting information consistent with the label.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs with approved speakers and logistics.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
  • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure optimal Customer Experience for HCPs and shares insights internally.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Demonstrated credibility with key customers and strong customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated Customer Experience.
  • Experience in Oncology preferred.
  • Strong account management and selling competencies with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills.
