Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS), Neuroscience, MS, is a field-based role focused on driving adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients, delivering a differentiated customer experience, and building credibility with HCPs in a defined territory that includes Portland, OR and surrounding areas. The position emphasizes scientific dialogue, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and adherence to regulatory and company standards. Travel and field presence are essential, with the role spent 100% in the field with external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains and grows scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas; develops and implements territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise, conducts in-office presentations, and leads external speaker programs in alignment with approved materials.
  • Maintains working knowledge of emerging data for approved indications; provides real-time medical support as needed.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to optimize the customer experience and shares insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing roles.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to support patient care.
  • Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric mindset to create a differentiated customer experience.
  • Experience in Neurology is preferred.
  • Strong account management, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.

  • Analytical capability to interpret data and generate insights for targeting and engagement.
  • Technological agility with proficiency in CE^3 and CRM tools; comfort with digital communication channels.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Requires operation of a company-provided vehicle; candidate must meet Qualified Driver requirements (e.g., age, license, driving risk level).
  • Field-based role with 100% time in the field; travel within the defined territory as needed.
