Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (Neuroscience) will drive engagement with Health Care Providers and promote approved medicines for appropriate patients within a field-based model. The role focuses on generating demand for BMS medicines through scientifically grounded dialogue, CE^3-enabled call planning, and delivering a high-quality Customer Experience. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians, collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet HCP needs in a timely, scientific manner, and prioritizes safe and appropriate product use while delivering business results. Location coverage includes Roanoke, VA and surrounding areas (Roanoke, Lynchburg, Blacksburg, Galax, Martinsville, Danville).

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Promotion: Promotes approved indications within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner; articulates the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients; maintains deep scientific expertise; prepares and implements territory and account plans; leverages CE^3 insights to inform call plans and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue: Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents information to HCPs using approved resources; conducts in-office presentations; organizes external speaker programs; stays current on emerging data; engages real-time medical support for unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborates with other field teams to optimize Customer Experience; shares insights with internal stakeholders; complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Required: Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nurse.
  • Required: Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain credibility with key customers and office staff through a customer-centric mindset to create positive Customer Experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in Neurology.
  • Required: Strong account management skills, selling competencies, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Required: Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and a can-do attitude.
  • Required: Strong selling and promotional skills.

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree.
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience (preferred).

  • Requires operation of a company-provided vehicle; driving eligibility is required (e.g., minimum age 21, valid driver's license, acceptable driving risk level).
