Role Summary

Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (Sr. TAS) focused on Neuroscience with a psychiatry focus, field-based across Anaheim, CA and surrounding Southern California locations. The TAS drives demand for BMS medicines, engages health care providers with differentiated scientific dialogue, and builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians. The role liaises with other BMS functions to deliver a high-quality Customer Experience (Cx) while prioritizing safe and appropriate use of BMS products. This position is field-based and requires spending 100% of time in the field with external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Promotion
    • Promotes approved indications of BMS products and the launch of KarXT (xanomeline-trospium) within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
    • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
    • Maintains and grows a high level of scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
    • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
    • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
    • Demonstrates scientific expertise and presents information to HCPs with medical accuracy.
    • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with labeling.
    • Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
    • Maintains working knowledge of emerging data for approved indications.
    • Engages real-time medical support to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best Customer Experience for HCPs.
    • Gathers and shares relevant insights with appropriate stakeholders to better serve customers.
    • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing conduct.

Qualifications

  • Required: Advanced scientific degree
  • Preferred: 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse
  • Required: Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to help physicians best serve their patients
  • Required: Demonstrated experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and others in the customer influence network via a customer-centric mindset and desire to create positive and differentiated Customer Experience (Cx)
  • Preferred: Neuropsychiatry experience
  • Required: Demonstrated strong capability in account management, selling competencies, and a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset
  • Required: Strong selling and promotional skills with a history of performance
