Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist, Hematology is a field-based role focused on driving demand and delivering a differentiated scientific dialogue with health care providers to optimize the adoption of BMS medicines for appropriate patients within a defined territory that includes Seattle, Spokane, WA, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Missoula, MT and Billings, MT.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory or region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use of products in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with and maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses tools such as CE^3 to derive insights and inform call plans; provides feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise in presenting information to HCPs and ensures medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and discusses product-related scientific information consistent with label.
  • Organizes external speaker programs and coordinates scheduling and logistics.
  • Maintains working expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
  • Provides real-time medical support through Medical on Call to address unsolicited questions and complex inquiries.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to enhance the Customer Experience for HCPs and shares insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to help physicians serve patients.
  • Experience building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx).
  • Experience in Oncology required.
  • Strong account management skills, selling competencies, and a track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and a strong promotional skill set.

Additional Requirements

  • Field-based role requiring 100% time in the field with external customers.
  • Must satisfy Qualified Driver requirements (e.g., minimum age 21, valid driver's license, acceptable driving risk level).
