Role Summary

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) is a field-based role focused on driving demand for BMS medicines within a defined territory by engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) with a scientific, customer-centric dialogue and compliant promotion. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians, liaising with other BMS functions to deliver a high-quality customer experience while prioritizing safe and appropriate product use and achieving business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients.
  • Maintains a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Utilizes tools such as CE^3 to generate insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Conducts in-office scientific dialogues, presentations, and external speaker programs aligned with approved materials.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging data for approved indications and coordinates with Medical on Call for real-time support.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure an optimal customer experience and shares insights with stakeholders while complying with laws and policies.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to physicians to support patient care.
  • Proven credibility with key customers and a customer-centric approach to delivering a differentiated customer experience.
  • Experience in Oncology required.
  • Strong account management skills, selling competencies, and track record of meeting/exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset.
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance history.

Education
