Role Summary
The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (Cardiovascular) is a field-based role responsible for delivering scientifically grounded engagement with health care providers, driving appropriate patient access and adoption of BMS medicines. The TAS builds credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs, collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance the customer experience, and prioritizes safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business targets.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Promotion: Promote approved indications within a defined territory to meet or exceed sales targets in a compliant manner; create demand by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients; maintain and grow scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas; prepare and implement territory and account plans; leverage tools to inform call plans; provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement.
- Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue: Demonstrate scientific expertise using approved resources; conduct in-office presentations and discuss product-related information consistent with label; organize external speaker programs and manage scheduling/logistics; maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging data; coordinate with Medical on Call for real-time support.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other field teams to optimize customer experience; share insights with appropriate stakeholders to better serve customers; ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications
- Required: Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing; ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately to physicians; track record of building credibility with key customers and delivering a differentiated customer experience; experience in cardiovascular settings preferred; strong account management, selling competencies, and goal attainment; ability to work cross-functionally with a positive, collaborative mindset; strong promotional and selling skills.
- Preferred: Specific cardiovascular experience; demonstrated ability to drive business results and tailor engagement across the patient care journey; data-driven approach to planning and execution.
