Position Summary
- Field-based Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) responsible for driving demand for BMS medicines within the Cardiovascular portfolio for appropriate patients.
- Engage Health Care Providers (HCPs) with a differentiated Customer Experience (Cx) through deeper scientific dialogue consistent with label, leveraging new ways of working and CE^3.
- Build and maintain credibility with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians/HCPs as primary point of contact; liaise with other BMS functions to meet HCP needs in a timely, scientific manner.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Promotion
- Promote approved BMS indications within a defined territory/region to meet or exceed assigned sales targets compliantly.
- Create demand by articulating balanced clinical/scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
- Maintain/grow scientific expertise across assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans.
- Use tools such as SOPHIA to derive insights and dynamically inform call plans; provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Fair & Balanced Scientific Dialogue
- Present approved scientific resources/publications accurately; ensure medical accuracy.
- Conduct in-office presentations (e.g., lunch and learns) and discuss label-consistent product science with HCPs.
- Organize external speaker programs (select speakers from Speakers Bureau-approved list; facilitate scheduling/logistics).
- Maintain expertise on emerging data for approved indications.
- Use Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with other field teams to ensure best Cx for HCPs.
- Gather/share internal insights with appropriate stakeholders.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies governing business conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in healthcare sales/MSL/HCP/nurse roles.
- Ability to communicate scientific/clinical data accurately and convincingly.
- Demonstrated credibility with key customers and office staff using a customer-centric mindset to deliver a positive/differentiated Cx.
- Cardiovascular experience preferred.
- Account management capability, strong selling competencies, and proven sales performance (meeting/exceeding goals).
- Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset and can-do attitude.
