Role Summary
Senior Product Manager responsible for designing and delivering the roadmap for the Onyx data platform interface and related applications to support GSK Research and Development. This role drives an enterprise-level strategy for data-driven decision-making and ensures scientists have access to best-in-class technology products to improve research productivity and accelerate medicine discovery.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the product roadmap, development, launch, and user adoption of the Onyx data platform interface across multiple departments.
- Define the strategic direction for the Onyx data platform interface with GenAI capabilities at the core.
- Partner with the wider Onyx tech team and RD scientists/leaders to deliver cloud-based products and solutions with GenAI and agentic capabilities.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for the Onyx data platform interface and ecosystem applications.
- Conduct in-depth customer research, gather insights, and engage with customers regularly to understand emerging requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements, features, and specifications based on feedback and business goals.
- Work with delivery and engineering teams in an agile environment to ensure successful, timely product releases, including prioritization and backlog management.
- Lead the GenAI product and capability upgrades, including AI agents powered by LLMs and Generative AI, and design human-agent interaction layers.
- Own the product lifecycle for models and agents, including data acquisition, model fine-tuning, and API/agent development.
- Structure products for human-guided iteration (Model-In-The-Loop Design) to enable effective Human + AI collaboration and adoption.
- Lead technical product discussions with engineering leaders to translate objectives into precise requirements for models and multi-agent architectures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, data engineering, platform engineering, data & knowledge platform teams, program management, and RD leadership to align strategies and execution plans.
- Lead product launches, ensuring effective communication, training, and materials to drive adoption and satisfaction.
- Monitor product performance, analyze data, and drive iterative improvements to usability and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in AI/ML, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field with 6+ years of technical product management experience; or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
- Required: Proven track record of launching software products that leverage AI or Generative AI in large-scale or enterprise environments.
- Required: Experience creating product strategies for modern applications, familiarity with AI tools and techniques (advanced databases, MLOps, model optimization).
- Required: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), API design, and infrastructure considerations to build and scale AI-powered applications.
- Preferred: Direct product management experience designing and launching AI agents that can use tools (APIs, function calling) to perform complex, multi-step actions.
- Preferred: Hands-on software engineering or data science experience in a GenAI-focused team prior to product management.
- Preferred: Familiarity with transformer-based models architecture and trade-offs between proprietary, open-source, and fine-tuned models.
- Preferred: Experience building products that manage or interpret complex, unstructured biomedical data.
- Preferred: Experience designing, optimizing, and implementing Model Context Protocols (MCP) for LLM-powered agents, including prompt engineering and memory architectures.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with product management tools (Confluence, Jira, Miro, Monday, Notion, etc.).
- Preferred: Life science or biopharma R&D experience is a plus.
