Role Summary
The Senior Staff IT Product Lead - Digital Applications will lead a portfolio of digital products critical to Exelixis's success, driving strategy, development, and operational excellence of Medical Affairs Technology capabilities. They will define product roadmaps, foster cross-functional collaboration, and lead agile product teams to deliver digital solutions that accelerate drug discovery, development, and commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Own two or more digital products, defining vision and strategy within the Digital Applications portfolio to enable Medical Affairs (MSL Field Reporting and Analytics, Medical Insights Management, Medical Communication & Publication, Grants Management, Med Information).
- Gather user needs with business owners, drive product requirements and user stories, and support market research/technology reviews to identify improvement areas.
- Evaluate product initiatives for business value, feasibility, and compliance; own architecture/design for one or two products aligned with enterprise standards.
- Lead product development lifecycle across concepts to launch and post-launch support using Agile (Scrum, Kanban); draft user stories and acceptance criteria for multiple products.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and QA to deliver secure, scalable, high-quality digital applications; coordinate with vendors to meet delivery timelines and operational needs.
- Drive user experience improvements based on usability testing and end-user research.
- Translate technical concepts for IT and business teams; build stakeholder relationships to align on goals and plans; participate in cross-functional discussions and planning.
- Maintain stability, performance, and security of digital applications with IT operations/infrastructure; manage third-party software solutions; ensure regulatory/compliance standards (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR) are met; contribute to quality assurance and data management/AI practices; monitor KPIs for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with 9 years of related experience; or Master’s degree in mathematics/statistics/engineering with 7 years; or PhD with 5 years; or equivalent combination.
- Experience: At least 5 years supporting Enterprise IT enabling business functions; 7+ years in IT focused on digital applications or product management within life sciences/pharma; proven experience leading product development teams in an agile/product-centric model.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Medical Affairs or commercialization lifecycle in pharma/biotech; track record delivering complex digital products that drive business value; familiarity with technologies such as SaaS platforms (Veeva, Salesforce), cloud solutions (AWS), CRM systems, medical insights and field reporting tools.
- Experience enabling end-to-end field experiences and AI integration/utilization in technology platforms.

Additional Requirements
- Occasional travel (5–10%) may be required to other company sites, conferences, or vendor locations.
- On-call availability for critical escalations.
