This role is field-based. Candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Territory includes: Oakland, Stockton, Sacramento and North.
Responsibilities:
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in field; deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives.
- Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve; handle objections and drive logical calls to action to close sales.
- Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships to achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
- Develop and execute a call plan to meet call metrics and optimize coverage and frequency for key customers.
- Build and share market intelligence (customer needs, landscape, competitors, segments, accounts, disease/product/clinical and sales expertise) with in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to align strategy and execution.
- Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition; identify, develop, and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred; relevant/equivalent industry experience required.
- In lieu of bachelor’s: at least 5 years pharmaceutical/health/science experience preferred; 3+ years preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven leadership success and solid presentation skills; strong business acumen; strategic/critical thinking; proficient business tools.
- Adapts selling approach based on customer behavior; effective in matrix environment.
- Preferred: sales performance success in respective therapeutic areas; physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing experience; in-depth scientific/therapeutic/product/competitive knowledge.
- Preferred: English proficiency (verbal and written) where applicable.
- Satisfy applicable HCIR credentialing requirements for entry into assigned facilities (may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening; meet safe driving requirements; drive personal auto or company vehicle/equipment.
