What You Will Do
In this vital role, you will be the connection to our customers by providing clinical knowledge of our products to medical professionals and helping them navigate the complex payer environment. The Senior Specialty Representative acts as the primary customer contact and is responsible for implementing marketing strategy and promoting Amgen products as led by the District Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen products and communicate clinical benefits to drive appropriate utilization
- Achieve territory sales by delivering branded messages, conducting planned programs, scheduling and following up on medical educational programs, and meeting/exceeding sales targets via in-person and virtual engagement
- Develop and manage accounts (customize discussions to customer needs, ensure product access, resolve/triage reimbursement issues, maintain product contracts)
- Provide feedback on marketing strategy; analyze business effectiveness and territory performance; develop territory plans with the District Manager
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continue learning and growth
- Demonstrate and sustain passion for products throughout the sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree and 3 years of sales and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (not sales related)
- OR Associate degree and 6 years
- OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years sales/marketing and/or clinical experience in pharma/biotech/diagnostics/healthcare insurance/pharmacy services/medical devices/supplies
- Product/hospital sales experience in specified specialties (e.g., oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, etc.)
- Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills; local market knowledge; Bachelorโs in Life Sciences or Business Administration; adaptability with core competencies
Benefits/Compensation:
- Expected annual salary range (U.S. excl. Puerto Rico): $122,219 to $150,837; plus Total Rewards Plan (health/welfare, retirement savings contributions, bonus/incentives, stock-based long-term incentives, time-off, and flexible remote/hybrid where possible).
