Role Summary

Senior Specialty Account Specialist – Respiratory, based in Iowa City. This role provides the opportunity to lead key activities, drive career growth, and perform impactful work supporting a GSK biologic product. You will develop and execute account-specific strategies, engage specialist customers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize reimbursement, access, and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
  • Understand the reimbursement and distribution landscape for specialist customers and refer to appropriate resources for reimbursement and distribution decisions, within GSK guidelines and values.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on severe asthma therapeutic expertise.
  • Provide product educational programs and in-services to customers.
  • Work within Compliance guidelines and GSK values.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to generate sales.
  • Develop and implement account-specific strategies for customers (e.g., Allergists, Pulmonologists, nurses, PAs, business/office managers).
  • Maintain strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
  • Effectively manage allocated resources, including financial resources.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by responding to customer requests and inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which may include overnight travel up to 30%.
  • Required: Valid driver’s license; ability to drive or operate a vehicle as an essential function of the role.
  • Required: The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience.
    • Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 5+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
    • Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 12+ years of pharmaceutical/medical device experience.
  • Preferred: Specialty products with Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy distribution; experience with Payer Reimbursement Managers; Biologic/Rare Disease/Respiratory sales experience; experience selling in IDN systems.
