The Senior Specialist, Global Payment Transparency, is responsible for the end-to-end collection, quality assurance, detailed review, analysis, and visual presentation of payment transparency data for their assigned markets. This role is instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of public transparency reporting and in supporting the organization’s compliance and reputation through expert data handling and legislative knowledge. Key Responsibilities The Senior Specialist is accountable for collecting relevant payment data from all necessary sources, ensuring comprehensive coverage for their designated markets. They take full ownership of the day-to-day operations required to develop payment transparency reports, including data gathering, preparation, review, and compilation of final reports for submission and publication. Data preparation is meticulous, consolidating information to be accurate, robust, and ready for in-depth analysis and ultimate reporting. A critical responsibility is the thorough review and analysis of data. The Senior Specialist must rigorously assess each dataset to determine if the data makes sense within business and compliance parameters, assess whether the data is complete, and identify any anomalies, inconsistencies, or errors. They are responsible for correcting issues and, where needed, seeking clarification prior to report finalization. By applying analytical expertise, they ensure that all data reported accurately reflects real payments and complies with internal and external transparency standards. Once analysis is complete, the Senior Specialist compiles the final payment transparency reports, bringing together data in a format that meets all reporting and legislative requirements. Their final output is reviewed for completeness, clarity, and regulatory alignment. In addition to their analytical and reporting duties, the Senior Specialist creates clear, insightful visualizations and graphs as part of the data packets delivered for each market. These visualizations are crafted to support stakeholder understanding and to reveal actionable insights from the data, adhering to established standards and best practices. The Senior Specialist is expected to be and remain an expert in the legislation and regulatory requirements governing payment transparency for their assigned markets, staying current with relevant codes, laws, or guidance and ensuring the reporting deliverables reflect these updates. Supporting documentation for all reports, such as data dictionaries, source logs, and audit trails, is compiled and maintained by the Senior Specialist to ensure readiness for audit or regulatory inquiry. They are also responsible for proactively escalating any challenges, data issues, or concerns, including gaps in data completeness, logic inconsistencies, or risk compliance promptly to the Sr. Manager or Director. Recognizing and elevating these findings supports both issue resolution and continuous improvement. Additional responsibilities include recommending improvements to data collection, review, or analysis practices, participating in projects or meetings where subject matter expertise is required, and collaborating closely with GPT colleagues to provide peer review and support process optimization. Additional Responsibilities Senior Specialist plays a key role in: knowledge sharing and ongoing process excellence support onboarding and training new colleagues in market-specific data and compliance requirements, recommend automation and quality control enhancements, and help improve visualization tools. Strict adherence to internal policies, particularly around data privacy and confidentiality, is a daily priority. Requirements: Essential: Bachelor's degree (ideally Accounting, Finance) Demonstrated knowledge of SAP, and purchase to pay systems / processes, Procurement Experience in finance, auditing, quality assurance/control, SOX and/or risk management Understanding of payment transparency principles Strong project management skills with the ability to handle competing projects simultaneously Strong ethical, collaborative and influencing skills Excellent computer skills, including Advanced use of Excel data Desirable: Additional certifications (e.g., CPA, Certified Accountant) Experience in or with the biopharmaceutical industry or a consulting firm working with pharmaceutical clients Demonstrates a thorough level of knowledge of accounting processes and/or financial reporting Experience with providing data quality control/assurance Understanding of Research and Development (R&D) and/or pharmaceutical commercial operations Working knowledge of / experience with payment transparency requirements in Europe (EFPIA), the US (Open Payments or formerly Sunshine Act) Global / cross-cultural experience What we offer: Welcome to Warsaw Site, one of over 400 sites here at AstraZeneca, providing a collaborative environment where everyone feels comfortable and able to be themselves is at the core of AstraZeneca’s priorities, it’s important to us that you bring your full self to work every day.
